Happy Independence Day!

How will you be celebrating Independence Day? There are so many great family friendly activities happening in our area this week, Here are just a few!

Activities in Rifle:
Tuesday July 3rd, 2018 7pm to 10pm: Independence Eve Celebration Hosted by the City of Rifle!
Though the fireworks have been cancelled due to extreme fire danger, there are still lots of activities happening in Rifle on July 3! Head downtown to show our local businesses some love and then head to Centennial Park and the Ute for an evening of FREE fun! The spray park at Centennial Park will operate extended hours on July 3 (open until 8:30 pm). Symphony in the Valley will present a patriotic concert at the Centennial Park Amphitheater starting at 7 pm. Bring a lawn chair or blanket! At 8:30 pm, head over to the The New Ute Events Center / New Ute Theatre Society for a night of FREE music!

Wednesday July 4th, 2018 9:30am to 12:30pm: Independence Day Parade Hosted by Art Daugue Pool & Water Slide & Rifle Parks & Recreation!
Children of all ages! Decorate your bikes, big wheels, skateboards and scooters to join us for a parade! We will march from City Hall to Heinze Park where we will play games like shoe scramble, potato sack race, three legged race and more. There’s fun for the whole family! Parents should walk along the street with the young children.
Please no motorized bikes, mini cars etc.

Activities in New Castle:
Wednesday July 4th, 2018 12pm to 10pm: Independence Day Celebration Hosted by LeverAction and Talbott Enterprises at Apple Tree Park
Come on out for food, games, free music, water and loads of family friendly fun. Kick off is 12 noon on July 4th. No alcohol allowed.
Local band LeverAction will be playing our evening show! Want to help? VOLUNTEERS NEED FOR THE JULY 4TH CELEBRATION!! Help needed for set-up on the 3rd, activities on the 4th, and break down on the 5th. Please contact the office at 984-2247 if you would like to volunteer. WE NEED YOU

Activities in Glenwood Springs:
Wednesday July 4th, 2018 5pm to 9:30pm: Fourth of July Celebration Hosted by First Bank of Glenwood Springs!
This free family friendly event kicks off at 5PM in Two Rivers Park with kids activities, games, trapeze performances, snake charming, face painting, magic, food/beverage vendors, LOTS of giveaways and more! Music begins at 6:30PM with The Davenports – Carbondale’s smoothest band, bringing you only the finest yacht rock jams and 80’s hits. Loggins, McDonald, Hall & Oats, Toto, Prince, Benatar, Blondie and beyond! Between sets, the ROTC will perform their rendition of the National Anthem with assistance from the Otone Brass Band. Headlining act, Otone Brass Band will play New Orleans Jazz/Funk in this unique blend of original music, high energy and second line grooves. OBB has played in multiple Colorado based Jazz Fests and performed at the Democratic National Convention. This main act will kick off around 7:30PM. The evening is capped off by a one-of-a-kind laser performance above the softball field starting around 9:15PM. The show will bring Red Mountain alive with waves of color, choreographed to classic rock, country, classical and pop hits from today!
