Seedling Tree Program for Rural Landowners
The Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) has the seedling program which lets farmers, ranchers, and other rural landowners get trees at a nominal cost. The goal is new forests, natural windbreaks that help cut down on erosion and add protection to both homes and land, and to also create wildlife habitat.
The tree seedlings and shrubs are grown at the CSFS nursery. The program qualification is simple, you must use the seedlings for conservation purposes only. The CSFS can provide landowners with information concerning what seedlings to plant, and where to plant for suitability to Colorado and purpose.
